It seems like a good idea if you are disciplined with their money because they are basically the money you have in your bank account will be charged to your mortgage.
The disadvantage is that the shares in your house easily accessible when they are undisciplined and brands may happen especially if you're not careful.
Probably best to consult an independent financial advisor if you are unsure whether they will continue.
